The Wettest day Ever!!!

What a day

Bloody orrible

I have never seen so much rain for so long ever!!

After we left the hotel this morning it carried on raining for hours.
In one town we went through we where riding against what seemed like a
river coming at us.

I am sure the water came up to our footpegs at times.

When we where in Berlin a few years ago I thought that was wet but
this just went on and on.

The locals did not help either as they seem to take great pleasure at
sending waves of water over you as they went past.

And the potholes under the water the missing drain covers in the
middle of the road the lorries up your ass the washed out Tarmac the
crazy unmarked road junctions

We are now in a hotel a little further on than Sibia. We did start the
day with the intention of a route that saw us at Pitesti but upon our
arrival and still with so much rain we just changed our destination to
Budapest and let Mr Garmin decide our route.

We did manage to go through the foothills of the Carpatian mountains
which were very nice but our route was a little busy with trucks.

It looks like we shall have to save Romania for another time.

We are spending this evening in a motel and it is just not typical of
Romania but it was just what was quick and easy.

But luckily down the road is very nice resturant where I had the local
liver and onions which was brilliant and all washed down with some
local lager called Ursus.

Let's hope that tommorow brings some drier weather as it seems as if
we have 320 miles to get to Budapest for a two night stay.

Regards

Peter
